Attendance at Conference at a lower cost, access to the WAECSSA website Members Only Section – which is full of helpful hints, useful links etc to assist you in your job, access to the new online full colour Schoolzine Voice e-magazine, Shoprite membership, Friendlies Chemist discount card, help in any way from WAECSSA Committee, Professional Learning courses, Minutes of Meetings in the members only section of the website, representation on DOE reference groups and working parties.
No. It is against DOE policy for any membership to an association for any individual to be paid from school funds.
Any Acting Manager Corporate Services appointed to positions for a period of six months or more can still join as an Ordinary Member with voting rights.
Yes. WAECSSA welcomes and encourages School Officers and Managers Corporate Services to become full (ordinary) members of the Association. We offer specific PL for School Officers, Aspiring Managers Corporate Services at Conference and through other PL opportunities.
The Conference paperwork is no longer posted out – it is all available on the Association website. Registration is via PLIS – link can be found under ‘Conference tab elsewhere in this site
Yes. The school receives PD funds for all staff members at a school.
The paperwork is located elsewhere on the website. Alternatively you can ask your RCC to contact the Management Committee, or contact them directly for PD funding in your area.
Yes for country members. The DOE gives WAECSSA a subsidy to disperse for travel for conference. Area Coordinators can include a travel subsidy in their PD funding applications.
When you get your conference papers there is a nomination form to be filled out and sent back in otherwise contact the WAECSSA committee and inform them.
Come along to any WAECSSA committee meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month and we will fill you in, otherwise phone or email any member on the committee.
Each year the first issue of the WAECSSA E Magazine, The Voice, is sent to all financial members as of December of the previous year. If you do not pay your current membership you will not receive Issue 2 of The Voice. The email link to The Voice is emailed to the email address quoted on your membership application.
The Voice is also available as a full colour e-magazine in the Members Only section of the website.
Any WAECSSA member (Ordinary, Life or Associate) can attend any WAECSSA Management Committee meeting held monthly or WAECSSA Annual General Meeting.
Second Monday of each month from 3.30p.m. onwards. WAECSSA meetings are currently held Redcliffe Primary School, 62 Kanowna Avenue, Redcliffe. Please contact a member of the Management Committee for further information.
Any suggestions or ideas can be forwarded to a member of the WAECSSA Committee. For example you may have some ideas for Professional Development in a certain area, articles for the magazine or ideas for conference.
