JAC - Effective Verbal Communication
Jill and Carol have extensive experience in many sections of the Department of Education, recently as facilitators at the Institute for Professional Learning.
Starting JAC Consulting in 2018, we design and facilitate programs to support staff to build their knowledge, skills and capability.

Communication is key to functional and effective workplace relationships.
This workshop will address:
• Styles of communication
• What makes communication effective or ineffective
• Matching communication with purpose and audience
• Techniques to more effectively communicate with all staff at all levels.
The workshop is for those who want to further develop their communication skills in the workplace.

Learn what's new in HR systems; HRMIS tips and tricks and more with Ben Ren.
WebSIS
The session will include an overview of the SIS replacement application and demonstrate an overview of the modules.

Kim Parkin is responsible for the Department’s Digital Communications Strategy and is a passionate digital marketer. With a background in advertising and brand development, she is an advocate for online collaboration and community engagement through social media.
Social media is an important part of contemporary communications. It provides a way of building a relationship with your audience and fostering open dialogue. For schools and educators, a strong social media presence can result in a more engaged school community and an enhanced reputation.
With a particular focus on Facebook, this session will cover the do’s and don’ts of managing a successful page, provide techniques for enhancing engagement with your school community and tips for creating likeable content.
Session Outcome:
Attendees will gain confidence in using social media for schools as a communications and engagement channel.

ETI - Visa's
Jacqui Johnstone has worked in International Education for over 10 years in both the TAFE and Schools Sector. She has extensive experience in visas, enrolment processes and compliance requirements for international students.
This session will explain the enrolment process for students from Overseas highlighting the enrolment, visas and funding implications for schools and the role of TIWA in seeking placement for these students.
Session Outcome:
Provide confidence for staff when completing the enrolment of overseas students and broad awareness of the categories of overseas students and the differences in management of these students within the school.

This session will help you see how your role is critical to the outcomes of students. Jenny will also share ways of using your strengths and building your confidence in your role.
Records Management
John Quinlivan has been presenting for about 7 years now and visiting 150 to 200 schools giving him wide experience.
This session provides complete guidelines on records management fort electronic and hardcopy records in schools. It covers the use of the school file plan, and the best way to structure and manage electronic records in schools.
Session Outcome:
The outcome of the session will be to give the attendees a clear understanding of the requirements for records guidelines in the school. They will also have a framework for structuring electronic records, to meet retention requirements as specified.

How to Best Present Yourself
Sophie Zadeh, Body Language Specialist, passionate about improving the way people interact and communicate non verbally. Cindy has extensive experience in Contracting with relation to non-government funding as well as goods and services.
This session will discuss the role of Commercial Services Directorate in particular:
• the services we provide (legal Commercial advice, procurement and licences)
• with focus to purchasing Goods and Services

Selection Panel - Getting the Right Fit
Melanja Kwiatkowski’s key responsibilities are the development of human resource policy; implementation of programs for teachers to advance their careers and apply for Senior Teacher and/or Level 3 Classroom teacher status; and support principals and staff in relation to matters under the Department’s Grievance Framework.
This session will provide participants with an overview of a range of human resource policies and their implementation in the school context and discuss the support available related to recruitment and selection process breaches, teacher registration issues and workplace discrimination, harassment and bullying matters under the Department’s Grievance Framework.
